PAST ACTIVITIES

　　The past few weeks Nursery class has been inquiring into living and nonliving things. As their understanding grew about what living things are, they expressed a lot of interest in trees and plants and how they breathe. We read a book on this subject and the children were curious about stomata, the tiny holes on leaves that allow the plant to breathe. We went out on a mission to find various plant leaves and we used a microscope to see if we could find the stomata. The stomata was seen on the leaves and the children were very delighted to be scientists and discover something new!

　　To celebrate Literacy Week, the Early Years classes started their day by reading outside. Last week, students were able to buy their own books from Scholastic at our Book Fair. Having books at home is a great way to encourage children to read.

　　New Library Books!

　　Thank you to everyone who supported the Book Fair last week. Due to your support the students were able to select some new books for the Library.

　　Last week, we are honnored to be invited to particiate at the "Science and Technology Week" hosted by Guangzhou Education Bureau and Science and Technology Bureau.
